“If I went away would you miss me, Gramp?”

“Like a garden misses worms.”

FROM THE GOLDEN FIELDS BY PAUL HURTEAU

About The Golden Fields and Author Paul Hurteau

Readers who enjoy works that examine complicity in our country’s divisions, like Lynn Nottage’s play SWEAT; coming of age stories with nostalgic youthful adventure, as in Stephen King’s THE BODY; or stories exploring trauma, mental health and transcendence, like Sylvia Nasar’s biography A BEAUTIFUL MIND, might be interested in my novel.

THE GOLDEN FIELDS is set in the North Country region of New York where I grew up. It is based on the true story of my father and uncle.

I work as a grant writer for a youth development nonprofit and am working on my second novel. I live in Andover, MA, with my family.
